2008 WORLD SERIES OF BIRDING
World Series of Birding

The Conserve Wildlife Foundation of NJ is pleased to sponsor The Wrending Talons, a team of veteran birders, in the 2008 World Series of Birding on May 10, 2008. The World Series of Birding is an annual 24-hour statewide bird-a-thon. Members of the team identify as many species as possible either by sight or by song. Our team members Margaret Atack-Klewin, Joe Delesantro, Jr., Matthew Klewin, and Buster Raffe are seeking your support. Contributions to our team will benefit the work of the Conserve Wildlife Foundation of NJ.

Birds are especially vulnerable to loss of habitat and environmental changes. They make up nearly 40% of the animals identified as threatened or endangered in New Jersey. Your donation to our World Series of Birding team will help:
• Provide protection for New Jersey’s fragile bald eagle and peregrine falcon populations;
• Build nest boxes for ospreys and kestrels;
• Conduct vital research to determine the future of our migrating shorebirds;
• Monitor vulnerable nest sites for piping plovers, least terns and other beach nesting birds;
• Protect critical habitat for songbirds whose numbers are declining rapidly; and
• Provide a future for more than 70 species of our state’s endangered and threatened wildlife.
