One of the
goals of the Conserve Wildlife Foundation of NJ is to
raise awareness about NJ’s rare, threatened, and
endangered wildlife. One way CWF accomplishes this is by
developing materials, programs, and contests targeted
towards New Jersey teachers and students. From the
Highlands to the Jersey Shore, New Jersey is home to a
great diversity of wildlife species that share our
environment with us. Protecting habitat for wildlife
ensures protected land, water and air for our future and
our children’s future.
We encourage students of all ages to look closely at the
wildlife and landscapes of their own schoolyard,
backyard, and community.

- Professional Development
Workshops for Teachers
The Conserve Wildlife Foundation of NJ is excited to offer Professional Development Workshops for Teachers highlighting New Jersey’s endangered, threatened, and rare wildlife. By attending one of our full day or half-day workshops, educators will improve their knowledge and teaching skills related to New Jersey’s rare wildlife populations. - Species on the Edge ~ Art
and Essay Contest
An art and essay contest open to all fifth grade students in public, private and home schools throughout New Jersey. Students choose one of NJ’s endangered or threatened species, create artwork about that species and write an essay about how it became endangered and what can be done to protect it. Each year, a winner and runner – up are chosen from each participating county. - Adopt A Species for the
Classroom - Through the Adopt A Species
for the Classroom Program, students take pride in
knowing that they are making an important
contribution to conserving rare wildlife in New
Jersey.
