Social Media Contest for High School Students

New Jersey High School Students Invited to Speak Up for Wildlife – and win prizes – in the Species on the Edge 2.0 Social Media Contest

High school students from across the state are invited to put their meme making skills and social media savvy to work for wildlife.

The Species on the Edge 2.0 Social Media Contest for high schoolers capitalizes on students’ expertise with social media platforms and provides them with the opportunity to showcase their talent, creativity, and love of nature – and win prizes. The contest is free to enter. First prize is $1,000, second prize is $500, third prize is $250 and every participant is eligible to win a day in the field with a wildlife biologist.

Students will create their own original content (for example: video, text, photograph, computer graphic) or use existing Conserve Wildlife Foundation content to create a series of posts focusing on a vulnerable New Jersey species that CWF helps protect.

The contest helps to develop students’ experience in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) and apply critical thinking and project management skills. Special thanks to the PSEG Foundation for sponsoring Species on the Edge 2.0.

High school students must register by February 28th, and post from March 1-8. For more information, rules, and entry form see: http://www.conservewildlifenj.org/education/edge2.0/
