Make a difference for rare wildlife by symbolically adopting one of twelve different species.
New Jersey is a small state with very big natural resources. From the mountains of northwestern New Jersey to the Delaware Bayshore, our state provides habitat for a wonderful array of wildlife that exist in our cities, suburbs, fields, forests, beaches, and bays. Yet habitat loss, pollution, climate change, and other threats create a perilous situation for our wildlife. We must act now to ensure the survival of our precious wildlife before it’s too late!
Your symbolic adoption through our Adopt a Species program supports our efforts to protect New Jersey’s rarest animals, enhance important habitat, and foster pride in New Jersey’s rich wildlife heritage.
All certificates were updated in 2022 and are delivered digitally, so you can print and gift to a friend or loved one. We also added three new species that are available for adoption: Northern diamondback terrapin, a species of special concern; Timber rattlesnake and Upland sandpiper, both listed as endangered in New Jersey.
