NJ Piping Plover Nesting Results 2024

Eighty-nine (89) pairs of Piping Plovers nested in New Jersey in 2024, a 25% decrease in population size from 2023.

Results from 2023, where over 800 occupied nests were documented.

2023 NJ Osprey Project Report

2023 Annual Bald Eagle Report

Two hundred eighty-six nest sites were monitored during the nesting season. One hundred-eighty-eight nests (78%) of the 242 known-outcome nests produced 309 young. Click to read more.

Great Bay Terrapin Project Report 2023

Staff and volunteers observed 840 terrapins within our project area, including 613 on Great Bay Blvd. this year. Total roadkills observed on GBB was twice as many as last year but closer to the average of 6% from 2012-2022.

Peregrine Falcon Research and Management Program In New Jersey, 2023

The peregrine population remained about the same in 2023 and nest success and productivity was near average. Thirty-eight percent of nests were in the coastal region and produced 52% of chicks with an overall 81% success rate.
